External Relations Marketing Manager Dayton Metro Library
The importance of representation in library marketing, communications, and advertising materials is essential to engaging all stakeholders, especially marginalized and underrepresented communities. Dayton Metro Library created a collaborative and inclusive marketing campaign - Free To Belong - that visually represents all members of the community and their right to belong at their libraries. Through info gathered from multiple sources, both internal and external, the campaign ensures DML marketing materials reflect—in terms of visuals and content—all members of the community, with a special focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. It also sends a strong message about what the library stands for – everyone belongs. A brand line and logo were designed, capturing the friendliness and inclusivity of the Dayton Metro Library. These elements have been implementation in all areas of marketing including the website, social media, print materials, digital signs, e-newsletters, and more. It has also provides a cohesive brand for all cultural programming, representing a strategic and intentional dedication to diverse and inclusive programming.
