Jieun Yeon is a Ph.D. candidate at Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies. As a member of the Library and Information Investigative Team (LIIT), she explores phenomena in libraries from a critical librarianship perspective. Her research focuses on how library staff, library boards, and the general public work together to govern libraries. Currently, she is studying controversies around material challenges in public libraries as a case of library governance. She holds M.A. in Library and Information Science at Yonsei University and B.A. in Library and Information Science and Public Administration at Yonsei University, South Korea. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, crocheting, and singing in multiple choirs.
