Design Professional - Architect
Colin Drake is a principal and civic studio design leader for JRA Architects, a Kentucky firm celebrating over 75 years of service across a diverse range of project types and scales. He is a passionate advocate for great design at any price point, leveraging conventional materials in unique and compelling ways. Colin has spent his 20 year career focused on a broad range of public facing project types, from schools to courthouses to libraries, where investment in practical sustainability can touch the everyday lives of the public and inspire greater wellbeing. His nationally published and award winning work is a testament to a deep commitment to context sensitive design and client collaboration. He is a proud graduate of the Ball State University College of Architecture and Planning, where he continues to volunteer as a lecturer and jurist. He lives and works in his adopted home of Louisville, Kentucky with his wife, 3 kids, and innumerable foster kittens. He founded the MĀZ project in May, 2020.
