Documentary Heritage and Preservation Services for New York (DHPSNY), a program of the New York State Department of Cultural Education, is an initiative to support cultural heritage organizations. Through its planning and assessment services, including strategic planning, archival needs assessments, and preservation surveys, DHPSNY is working to provide libraries and archives in New York State with the tools they need to care for their special collections. DHPSNY also offers educational programs that consist of webinars, online courses, workshops, and virtual dialogue sessions on a variety of topics including preservation, archival management, and antiracism for collecting institutions. Additionally, DHPSNY provides networking and outreach opportunities, including a circular mentorship program designed to create a community-based support system in which individuals can serve as both mentor and a mentee. This poster session will showcase these educational programs, planning and assessment services, and outreach and networking opportunities, as well as highlight some of the ways that participating organizations have put these services to use in their own organizations.
