Ady has worked in San Diego libraries for 24 years and is currently the Supervising Librarian of Youth and Family Services at San Diego Public Library. She is passionate about providing inclusive and impactful programs and services for Latinx communities, LGBTQ youth and immigrant communities. She has served as the Chair of the Seguimos Creando Enlaces Committee, which has put on 9 bi-national librarian conferences bringing together library staff from the United States and Mexico to collaborate, exchange ideas and share best practices. She has been involved with LIBROS, the San Diego chapter of REFORMA and has held leadership positions including President in 2013 and served as the International Relations Committee Chair for REFORMA National. She is involved with REFORMA's Children in Crisis Task Force, where she collaborates with local immigrant youth shelters to provide library services to unaccompanied minors. She currently serves as Co Chair of the San Diego County LGBTQ Latinx Coalition. Ady is a 2008 ALA Spectrum Scholar and 2016 REFORMA Librarian of the Year. She has a BA in Chicana/Chicano Studies from San Diego State University, and an MLIS from San Jose State University.
