Kathryn Blackmer Reyes. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library. San José State University. Librarian and Director of the Africana, Asian American, Chicano, and Native American Studies Center. Kathryn has been a librarian for 25 years working as a reference and liaison librarian in Sociology and Chicana and Chicano Studies. Blackmer Reyes has been at SJSU directing the AAACNA Center for 15 were she oversees the U.S. Race/Ethnic collections, programming, exhibits, and growth. She is a Board member of the Latino Digital Archive Group that seeks to create an informed dialogue between information professions and members of the US. Latino Community on the extablishment of a national digital archive to preseve Latino history and culture. In 2023, Blackmer Reyes was a recepient of ALA's "I Love My Librarian" Award highlighting her community programming in the library. Blackmer Reyes is a lifetime member of APALA, REFORMA, and the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies.
