My name is Matthew Collins, I am a Reference, Instruction, Liaison, and Zine Librarian at the University of San Francisco's Gleeson Library.
I liaison to the departments of History, Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies, and Communication Studies. I have been in Library Science for 25 years with the last 10 years as a librarian. I am currently part of Gleeson's: Reparative and Inclusive Description Group, the Library Advisory Council, Zine Collective, Emergency Building Marshals, and the University's Academic Integrity Committee. I am also part of the steering Committee for the California Conference on Library Instruction (CCLI). I was born and raised in San Francisco. I have a B.A in literature from The University of San Francisco and a Masters of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. I love poetry, literature, genealogy, history, art, travel and exploring different cultures through these lenses. I enjoy arts and crafts, printmaking, zines, and sculpture. I have traveled with the Circus, carved 3,000 pound blocks of ice in Alaska, and won awards for my culinary skill with SPAM.
