Librarian
Selangor Public Library Corporation
Norelmin Sapuan holds a first degree in Information Management from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. She has been with the Selangor Public Library Corporation, Malaysia for almost 19 years now. She began her career as a librarian in Customer Service Department at the head office library in 2004, and continued her path two years after in the Library Development Department.
What began as a slow progress then escalated as a fast-paced transformation phase when the new library director took the helm mid-2009. The average before 2009 is one library development project within five years, then gradually changes to average of three library development projects per year. Recently it has increased to more than five projects per year.
She is passionate in inculcating awareness about the roles of a public library and how the library can add value to people’s daily lives by providing modern and conducive facilities for the society. She has contributed actively in the rebranding of Selangor Public Library by working together with other departments in materialising the ideas of new services sparked by the library director. 6
