Teaching and Learning Librarian
University of Nevada, Las Vegas
Amber Sewell (she/her) is a Teaching and Learning Librarian at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she works primarily with first and second year undergraduate students. Her research includes games and storytelling for instruction, and information privilege. Creator and host of The LibParlor Podcast, she is also interested in podcasting as a means of making scholarship more widely available. She hosts workshops for students about finding their fandom in research, and workshops for faculty, staff, and other instructors about using games-based learning and gamification in their instruction.
Amber is Member at Large and co-chair of the Program Planning Committee for the Games and Gaming Round Table at ALA, and is always looking for ways to incorporate games and play into all aspects of her work.
