Managing Librarian, Young Adult Services
The New York Public Library
Ricci Yuhico is the Managing Librarian for Young Adult Services at the newly renovated flagship circulating branch of NYPL, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library, where she manages their flagship Teen Center. Originally from Miami, she has worked in library services for over a decade and has had the privilege of creating and running premiere teen library spaces from South Florida to NYC. Ricci celebrates the complexities of her identity as a first-generation American-born citizen to parents who immigrated from the Philippines. From this lens, she consistently examines the barriers that first-generation and immigrant youth encounter when accessing these resources and works daily to dismantle them. This has set up her overarching professional goal of creating spaces and providing avenues that are easily accessible to the youth so that they can fully embrace their right to vetted information, resources, and the right to thrive in public spaces.
