Ms. Thedis Washington Bryant is the Assistant Director of Research, Public, and Information Literacy Services at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU) in Normal, Alabama. As the overseer of the Research department, she plans, directs, manages the operation, and makes recommendations for optimal success.
Ms. Bryant has been employed at AAMU for 7 1/2 years and served as the Education and Acquisitions Librarian, and Interim Director of Library Services and the State Black Archives Museum. In her role as the Interim Director of Library Services, Ms. Bryant assumed the position of Project Investigator for the IMLS grant known as the Curbside Contactless Click and Collect.
A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Ms. Bryant has approximately 25 years in academia including Library Science, Academic Affairs, and Institutional Advancement.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Tuskegee Institute (1984), a Master of Science in Library and Information Sciences at Louisiana State University (1995), and a Master of Business Administration at Albany State University (2013).
Her professional experiences have afforded her with strong management, supervisory, mentoring, decision-making, and collaboration skills.
She is passionate about academic libraries and their goal to support the University mission of student success, instruction, research, outreach, academic excellence.
