Jené D. Brown, MLIS, is Los Angeles Public Library's Director of Emerging Technologies and Collections. She leads and oversees LAPL's collection development system and its multilingual, technical, and digital services. Jené ensures that library materials are purchased, cataloged, discoverable, and easily accessible to patrons and skilled staff. With over 25 years of public service, she manages the division's extensive budget, talent, and large-scale project implementation. A past president (2021) of the California Library Association, Jené is BCALA-proud, along with memberships in numerous library associations.
