Tacoma Public Library

Kate Larsen is the Director of Tacoma Public Library, an eight-branch system 40 miles south of Seattle. Kate received her BA (Bachelor of Arts) at the University of New Mexico and her MLS (Master of Library Science) at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. As a library administrator, Larsen emphasizes community engagement with a focus on advancing equity, improving standard operations and public services and internal and external communication, engaging staff strengths, and moving libraries forward through the use of technology.
