Outreach and Instruction Librarian

Brea Henson (she/her) is the Outreach and Instruction Librarian at the University of North Texas Libraries. She serves as the subject librarian for the Department of Political Science, which includes the Peace Studies Program and Castleberry Peace Institute, and the Latina/o and Mexican-American Studies Program. Henso also serves as the library liaison to the Dean of Students Office and Counseling and Testing Center at UNT. Her outreach intatives include the Help Yourself Campaign at the UNT Libraries (https://guides.library.unt.edu/helpyourself) and finals programs focused on mindfulness and self-care pratices. Her research focuses on instruction, outreach, and contemplative praxis.
Henson has a MLS from Texas Woman's University and a Masters in Comparative Literature from the University at Buffalo, SUNY. She is pursing certification as a Koru Mindfulness instructor and instructional designer.
She is Co-Chair of the IRRT International Papers and Projects Session Committee and member of ACRL PPIRS.
