Amy Kyung-eun Breslin (she/her) is an Outreach Librarian for the Lorain Public Library System (OH). She focuses her work on literacy justice, building community relationships, and building collective movement by applying popular education practices and promoting stories that humanize the experiences of systemically marginalized communities. She received the 2022 Janice Smuda Children’s Librarianship Award from Kent State University for her work co-authoring the “APALA Rubric to Evaluate Asian American and Pacific Islander Youth Literature” and received the 2022 JCLC Advocacy Award for APALA. She holds an MLIS degree from Kent State University (OH) and is an ALA Spectrum Scholar (2019). She Co-Chaired the APALA Family Literacy Focus Committee (2020-2022) and serves on the ALA Committee on Literacy (2022-2023).
