Assistant Library Director Arkansas State University
The Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT) is the largest round table in ALA. Founded in 1969, SRRT was formed to help make ALA more democratic and to help establish progressive priorities for the library profession. We are the home for progressive librarians, library workers, and supporters. Stop by our poster to learn more about us! We will provide a brief background of the social justice group, including notable members, resolutions, and other groups that found their start in SRRT. Quotes and examples will be pulled from early business meetings and newsletters to provide insight to the development of the round table. We will then share information on the current and future activities of SRRT, including upcoming programs, and provide attendees with details on how to get involved. The SRRT Coordinator will be on hand pass out SRRT buttons and to answer any questions and hear your ideas for future programs and activities!
