This poster details the logistics of setting up a school-wide read in, including step-by-step planning instructions, ideas for collaboration and promotion within and across school departments, visual timelines for execution, and example schedules for each type of event. Photos of student and staff performances from SLAM poetry to short essays to choral reads to one-act performances will be highlighted. It specifically showcases recent Latinx, African American, and Asian American & Pacific Islander read ins at Glenbard East High School. QR codes on the poster will take attendees to copyable Google Form registration materials and itineraries.The poster will also touch on how to cull and arrange appropriate sources (both print and online) for all kinds of readers and performers, how to recruit students and staff to attend the events, and where to find sponsors if needed. It will spotlight the pros and cons of holding the events in-person versus virtually, and this will be demonstrated by infographics highlighting the number of student and staff attendees, the number of student/staff performers, and the number of pieces chosen at each type of event.
