Programming for children with special needs requires meticulous planning and considerations, specific marketing strategies, utilization of networks one might not already belong to, and educating staff. These programs require more than average staff time, but their importance is huge. This session will review how programs are created and implemented , share the details of preparing the space, how to analyze supplies, offer an accessibility check-list, and tips on educating staff. Marketing programs for children with special needs requires detailed word choice, staff scripts for being clear on the intended audience, and responses to those who try to attend a program not intended for them. Networking opportunities ideas will also be offered. These programs are created and intended for small groups which offer a great deal of enjoyment, opportunity, and engagement. Families are incredibly appreciative of their own programs such as Christmas, Valentines, and Easter events which they choose not to attend because the participation numbers are too overwhelming. Big events can be offered in smaller ways. .
