Is your Library ready to take the next steps to participate in targeted, strategic outreach efforts? Are you ready to utilize the available data and information to make community-driven changes to library service? Sacramento Public Library’s Cathy Crosthwaite and Kelly Clark will present guidelines used to successfully build up outreach efforts, along with the use of data to support outreach and service initiatives.
You will leave this session with tools to start, enhance and/or push forward your library system’s objective to increase outreach and provide innovative services. In addition, we will show how mapping and analysis help determine where new services will best meet community needs within a large and diverse service area. Using “storytelling tools”, such as Community Conversations, Census data, and mapping software, this presentation will demonstrate how to work with the available data to map out and pinpoint the most effective way to meet former, current, and future patrons where they are.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to assess and build onto their current outreach efforts.
Upon completion, participants will be able to understand and utilize mapping and data use in developing clear objectives for outreach and service initiatives.
Upon completion, participants will be able to visually demonstrate the strategic use of resources for innovative services throughout their communities.
