Head of Digital Strategy Montgomery County Public Libraries (MD)
Are you responsible for designing your library’s website, catalog interface, and other discoverable online content? In this session, you will learn how to apply User Experience (UX) design thinking to improve the customer journey through your library’s web ecosystem in order to increase access to materials and improve strategic metrics in alignment with your organization’s goals and objectives.
This session will examine the test case of aligning the customer experience on the Montgomery County Public Libraries (MD) website with the library's new strategic plan and recent open-source catalog implementation. Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe the Design Thinking process for improving the user experience on library websites and discovery layers.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to apply a Design Thinking framework to map the user’s journey in accessing materials and accomplishing tasks between multiple online ecosystems.
